Jako katolicy polscy jesteśmy wzburzeni i zaniepokojeni prześladowaniami i szykanami, jakich doświadczają chrześcijanie wietnamscy, a szczególnie osoby duchowne. Wysadzenie przez policję wietnamską krzyża - znaku świętego dla chrześcijan, niszczenie także innych symboli naszej wiary, pobicia - tego nie da się wytłumaczyć incydentalnymi wybrykami. Przeciągające się prześladowania są, naszym zdaniem, wynikiem przyzwolenia na zwalczanie ludzi ze względu na wyznanie. Domagamy się dla chrześcijan podstawowych praw należnych każdemu człowiekowi.

As Polish Catholics we are deeply disturbed and alarmed by the ongoing persecutions and repressions against the Vietnamese Christians, especially against their spiritual leaders. The blowing up by the Vietnamese police of the Cross - the sacred sign of every Christian, as well as destroying other holy symbols of our faith, beating - all of these cannot be explained by the way of incidents. Still continued persecutions are in our opinion the effect of governmental permission to oppress people because of their religious confession. We strongly appeal to the Government to guarantee Christians in Vietnam the basic human rights which are due to every human being.

Szanowny Panie Ambasadorze!
Oświadczamy, że jesteśmy dogłębnie poruszeni i wstrząśnięci okrutnymi prześladowaniami, które pod pretekstem przestrzegania prawa Socjalistycznej Republiki Wietnamu dotykają chrześcijan, a zwłaszcza członków Zgromadzenia Najświętszego Odkupiciela (redemptorystów), którzy są Waszymi współobywatelami. Tym listem wyrażamy solidarność z naszymi braćmi i siostrami - katolikami prześladowanymi w Wietnamie. Na Pana ręce zaś składamy stanowczy protest przeciw stosowanym w Pańskim kraju praktykom łamania podstawowych praw człowieka: prawa do życia w pokoju i wolności religijnej. To, czego doświadczyli redemptoryści i współpracujący z nimi świeccy, jest jawnym pogwałceniem praw osoby ludzkiej wynikających z jej niezbywalnej godności, a zawartych w Powszechnej Deklaracji Praw Człowieka Organizacji Narodów Zjednoczonych. Dlatego też domagamy się podjęcia stanowczych działań Rządu - który jest przez Pana reprezentowany na terenie Rzeczypospolitej - dążących do położenia kresu jawnej niesprawiedliwości, propagandowej nienawiści i prześladowaniom Wyznawców Chrystusa, a szczególnie członków Zgromadzenia Najświętszego Odkupiciela. Brutalne pobicie redemptorysty, który domagał się przestrzegania elementarnego prawa sprawiedliwości wobec swoich współwyznawców i współobywateli, oraz represje, które obecnie dotykają redemptorystów i świeckich chrześcijan, świadczą bardzo źle o praworządności w Socjalistycznej Republice Wietnamu. I tym samym dają negatywne świadectwo o Wietnamie we współczesnym świecie.

Mr Ambassador! We declare, that we are deeply moved and dusturbed with the cruel persecutions, that under the pretense of observing the legal order of the Socialistic Republic of Vietnam are executed against the Christians and especially against the members of the Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer (redemptorists), who are the rightful citizen. With this letter we express our solidarity with our brothers and sisters in faith - persecuted Catholics in Vietnam. Into your hands we are putting our strong protest against the breaking in your Country the basic human rights: the right to live in peace and right to religious freedom. Reprressions experienced by the redemptorists and cooperating with them lay people are obvious violation of the indispensable human rights contained in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights signed by the Orgnaization of United Nations. Therefore we demand, that the Government, represented in Poland by You, undertake the decisive steps in order to stop injustice, hateful propaganda and persecution of the Christian believers, especially of the members of of the Redemptorist Order. Brutal beating of the redemptorist brother who claimed the observance of basic justice towards faithful and citizen as well as the repressions applied towards redemptorists and lay Christians all of theese make very negative testimony about the law and order in Socialistic Republic of Vietnam, and create very negative image of the Country in contemporary World.
